Goes Funeral Care - Fort Collins, Colorado

Goes Funeral Care is a one location, family-owned and operated funeral home serving over 500 client families a year. We are located in Fort Collins, Colorado, serving the Northern Colorado community for over 27 years. Colorado is a high cremation state, and the majority of our arrangements are cremation based, either flame or water. Although, we have our share of traditional services and green burials. We are currently evaluating a partnership with a provider in Washington State to provide natural organic reduction for client families here in Colorado. We are a funeral home that does not focus on sales quotas but rather the experience and service we provide to our families. We seek that special person to be an integral part of our death care team and culture.

Historic Fort Collins, home of the Colorado State University Rams, is located one hour north of Denver and just east of the Rocky Mountains. Consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in America, it is an outdoor recreation, beer lovers’ and foodie’s mecca.

The person we are seeking can be either a new graduate at an accredited Mortuary Science program/school or someone with a little more post school experience and a license or professional certification. Must be National Board certified or in the process of taking the National Board Exam. A less experienced candidate will have the ability to learn additional skills from a knowledgeable team of funeral directors and obtain other certifications. This person should be committed to the compassionate ministry of funeral service and the time commitment it takes. A clean driving record as well as the ability to pass a background check is required. One must either live in or be willing to move to Northern Colorado. We are a non-smoking facility.

This motivated candidate should be able to multitask, problem solve, have great attention to detail, be organized and a team player but can also work independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and well as familiarity with technology and office software/programs is required. The ability to think outside the box to create meaningful funeral experiences is necessary. We serve all faiths and ethnicities.

Duties include participating in the rotation for after hours on call – nights and weekends, performing removals, embalming and other preparation of the deceased, cremation operations, meeting with families and arranging services, leading funeral and memorial services, file management and office administration. Regular contact with both pre-need and at-need families. There must be a comfort level with a balance of family contact and back room work and be able to meet the physical, including lifting and spending periods of time standing, and mental requirements of the position.
